1920's: Did Someone Say Music?

Art is not only to pictures and painting but also the capturing of the moments. Here are some links to women doing their "shimmy" and having a good time.
Note* this would have never been allowed in the previous ages, just look at their dress attire, their open social life and how happy they look. And even in present time we still adore their dances.

Here's why

Ive always been fond of the 1920's. The 1920's always remind me of fashion and women making a stand for themselves. Women used to be secondary to their husbands and fathers but not as the years progressed.

Pertaining to art history women in the middle ages were limited to their surroundings for their inspiration. But as the years progressed women such as Artemisia Gentileschi and Rosa Bonhaur help make women take a stand for themselves. Through fighting back womens issues through art women were standing up against the ideal women.

The 1920's also reffered as the roaring twenties were roaring for the women,women became rebellious. With bobbed hair cuts and short dresses the idea of women in the 1920's changed. As seen in the art and media women had more freedom and were exposed to a undercover world. This blog is designed with the intent to discover how women in art and media were idealized compared to the women in the past decades.

The 1920's has always been my favorite years throughout history and I truley believe that I was born in the wrong decade. I would have loved to witness this age, but not with the aftermath of the Great Depression ofcourse :)
